Tuesday March 10, 2009 See an A's affiliate when the Athletics are on the road. The reigning California League "A" champion Stockton Ports (www.stocktonports.com) have announced their 2009 promotion schedule. The Ports have
several exciting theme nights, giveaway items, performances and events planned to provide their fans with top-notch entertainment
during the upcoming season, which opens at Banner Island Ballpark on April 16 at 7:05 p.m. Further details about each promotion
will be released in the week leading up to the event.

In July, Rickey is being inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame; the A's play in the new Yankee Stadium and
Fenway Park and National League games in Washington and the new NY Mets park. See the complete itinerary by selecting
the "See the A's...." link above. - Note: This is not a booster club sponsored trip.
- It's a Jay Buckley Baseball Tour that is for serious baseball
fans. There were 37 seats available on this trip as of this morning.
- Update April 17th. The first bus has been filled and a second one added. The
second bus had 19 seats avialable as of April 17th.
Another choice is offered by Sports Travel and Tours. - Similar to the Buckley tour. Two days in Cooperstown and no game in Washington.

Friday February 20, 2009 A Message from the President... Welcome to the 2009 season. The A's have made some changes in the off season and so have we. We lost Jim Hall as our Vice President. Sara Sommers is no longer our web person, however, she will continue to belong to the Booster
Club. We thank her for developing and managing the booster web site. We appreciate her efforts. Ray Dickinson is our Vice President this year. Our first luncheon is Friday, April 3, 2009. Our luncheons are still at Francesco's
Restaurant at the corner of Pardee and Hegenberger in Oakland. Doors open at 11AM and lunch is 12 noon. Entrance fee

few examples: Miggie's growth to his MVP season, building the "outfield hotel" before our eyes, the 20 game win

This is the last time I, Sara, will write as the host of the
Booster's Website. It has been an honor to serve the club in this capacity. I've gotten to know many of
you thru written conversations and it is wonderful to have all the excitement and passion for the A's coming together
here. I am not sure who is taking my place but you can be sure it will be equally exciting and informative. Go A's!!!!

Well, it's official. Jason Giambi is an Oakland
A. Press Conference today! And he's wearing 16, his old number when he played with the A's 1995-2001. Sara wrote an article for a site called Bleacher Reports on Tuesday
before the ink was on the contract. Click the site right below this writing to read it. This is a great website
for people who think they want to write like columnists. You get lots of fan opinions on all kinds of sports.

July 16, 1971: Vida Blue
tosses a one-hitter in a 4-0 victory over Detroit. Blue is 18-3 and
finishes 24-8 with a 1.82 ERA in his first full season, winning the MVP and Cy Young Award. The Tigers' only hit is a
Tony Taylor fourth-inning single. The A's get three hits, two by George Hendrick, including a three-run double. This week in A's history

June 11, 1978: Mike
Morgan at the age of 18 years and 246 days, is the youngest pitcher to start a game for Oakland, pitching all nine
innings but losing 3-0 to the Orioles. Morgan's honor is short-lived. Twelve days later, Tim Conroy gets

May 24, 1995: Dennis
Eckersley earns his 300th career save in a 5-3 win over the Orioles, the sixth reliever to reach the milestone and
the quickest at the time - it came in his 499th relief appearance. Eck finished his career with 390 saves, all but 70 coming

Barry Zito combines with Jim Mecir and Ricardo Rincon for a three-hit shutout at Minnesota, and the left-hander earns his 20th win and
lowers his ERA to 2.74. Zito goes on to win 24 games and the AL Cy Young Award.
His .821 winning percentage breaks Bob Welch's Oakland record.

from the club. If you have changed your email address recently, please provide the old address and the new address.
- When you click on the Officers and Board Members
page on the Navigation Bar, you'll notice that there is a "Sunshine" button. Kris is "sunshine"
and sends out cards to anyone who is ill, has lost a family member, has been in an accident, etc. But she can't
send cards to if she isn't informed. So when a card is warranted please call Kris.
Are you interested in being involved
with the Booster Club Board?
A few of the skills that can be of significant impact to the booster club web site
are: photography, web site design, construction and maintenance. Also, interviewing and writing skills can be very beneficial
toward improving the content and quality of this web site.
If you or someone
you know are interested in bringing exciting energy to the booster club
board, please contact the board by using the "contact us" button in the navigation panel at the left. Give
us a short description of what your interests are, how you think they might improve the club and the time you have available.
Elections are usually held in October and the new term starts at the
end of the World Series, however, you can approach the board at any time for your consideration.
You
can be helpful by participating in other ways:

- other interests that
you might propose to the board for consideration.
